Glad that your decision to consult me this morning for techniques for pike, i.e. large rapalas, plugs, and spoons paid off !

Congrats !

Thanks. But this guy was caught on a Mepps rainbow spinner. I don't know what this pike was thinking. He has never seen a Rainbow trout in its life.

We were trolling the lake though.

I think I suggested the trolling too.

Congrats again !

MEPPS WAS IT A #3 ? THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A CARLSON SUGGESTION.

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR CATCH!

Trolling! Of course! Amazing that we never thought of that at any time over the last fifty years or so I have been visiting Shag Lake.

Yes, Carlson's - Thanks also for the brilliant Mepps suggestion. However, I'd like to call both of your attention to this June 21, 1996 entry in the Camp Journal:

"I catch three more northerns, mostly trolling with the Mepps on the other side of the lake." - mw

Coincidently, this is the same kind of fish, using the same technique and the same lure, while fishing in the exact same location as when Dad caught his pike yesterday.

Imagine that.
